Depending on availability of tutors some of these times may be changed.  (if you require more information ring 4969 1498)

Session 6 commences on Monday 30th August.

Important Notice  We will not change the day and time of your course except in the case of an emergency, all cancellations must be in by the 26th March if you do not want to loose your payment and have to re-apply again for the course. Phone: 4969 1498 after 6 PM

Reason: Changing the day and time of courses after they are set into the Class Roster, upsets the Tutors’ schedules; causes confusion in class attendance, and takes up a lot of extra time with three or four extra phone calls. (moving one sometimes means moving three, or more people on the roster) it will no longer be accepted,

From now on, cancellations must be in 10 days before each session begins. If you do not comply with this ruling you will not only loose your payment, you have to re-apply for the course again.

PLEASE NOTE the following strictly applies from now on

Course  payments must be in 10 days before the  session begins

Cancellation  notification  (except emergencies)  3 days before the session begins

PLEASE RING 4969 1498 if the day or time does not suit you, or if your name is not here (or if you would like to fill one of the above vacancies)

Cancelling out of a course

When unable to attend a class/course, advise the Enrolling Officer (ASAP) Marjorie Laidler 49691498 no later than the night before.

None of us are getting any younger and we all find our circumstances change at a moments notice, when you find you cannot attend the course you have enrolled in, please advise the Enrolling Officer ASAP. (a person from the waiting list may then fill the vacancy)

Enrolling in higher level courses

Members are reminded that it is Club policy that to participate in one of the higher level courses you must have completed the basic Windows courses.

The basic Windows courses build your confidence with the computer and show you the essential skills required for further courses, including:

Opening and closing programs, Naming and saving files, Creating folders under My Documents, Designing your own filing system

Moving files and folders, Deleting files and folders, Create text in WordPad, Empty the Recycle Bin

Retrieving files and folders from the Recycle Bin

Using the keyboard to edit text — using the Shift, Control, Backspace, Delete, Home, End and the insertion point movement keys Block (highlight) text, and Cut, Copy and Paste, Create and place on the Desktop a shortcut to a file, folder or program

A comprehensive list of the basic Windows skills is available at the enrolling desk on Club Meeting days or at other times from the Club room.

Without these skills students compromise the tutor’s time and disadvantage the second student.

We are always looking for new tutors...interested ????

Are you reasonable confident with the basic Windows skills?

Could you volunteer a couple of hours one morning or afternoon a week?

Then please nominate to join the ranks of the tutors.

You will have the satisfaction of seeing people gaining confidence with their computer. You will meet very nice people. You will also learn a lot about computers yourself. There will be Train the Tutor sessions available and you would never be left to fend for yourself as all your fellow tutors are always only too willing to assist with any problems that might occur.
